Question Unnable to get SATA on VT8237A southbridge w/ Gentoo

I'm having a bit of trouble getting the VT8237A southbridge to be recognised on both an HD already loaded with gentoo, and the gentoo Live-CD 2006, rendering my fancy soon-to-be-REAID SATA drives useless. None of the stock drivers with the kernel seem to mention it, just the VT8237. Via_sata and friends seem to do nothing. I've attached my lspci, and dmesg, which does mention "VP_IDE: Unknown VIA SouthBridge, disabling DMA." Anyone know of any newer drivers or patches that may allow me to access my SATA drives?
