Question unable to stop fcusb2

Hi all,

I´m fighting with a stupid problem. I want to kick all MS OS out of the house, and replacing them with Linux. For some tasks I still need MS XP, but I want to run this in a VMWare session. One of the tasks I need to do involve my USB - ISDN modem. And this is where the problem starts.

Within Linux the modem is available, but if I want to connect the modem to my VMWare session, I always get the message that some other process is holding the hardware and it can´t be released. If I use RCISDN to stop the modem, I always get the message that fcusb2 is busy and the ¨release¨ of it will fail.

I´m using SuSE Linux 9.0.

Who can and is willing to help me.

Thanks,
Mima
