Unable to print borderless Photosmart 7350

:confused:

I have set up a linux box using Ubuntu and have attached my photosmart 7350 printer via a USB printer server. Using CUPS, I set it up and it prints out the test pages perfectly. The problem is when I try to print out photos using GIMP and the 4 x 6 borderless tray on the printer. The printer gives an error when that tray is used.

I have tried a newer pdd file and also tried printing using gnome-photo-print, all without sucsess.

:scratch: Any ideas or suggestions would be apretiated.

Thanks!

I should add that the photo tray works fine under the windows box.

guess I have a similar problem with HP1120C

Sorry that I don't have a solution for your problem but I got your post from a search for a solution to mine :-(

Here is my /etc/cups/printers.conf

Code:

# Printer configuration file for CUPS v1.1.23
# Written by cupsd on Sat 26 Nov 2005 02:51:17 PM WET
<DefaultPrinter hp1120c>
Info HP DeskJet 1120C
Location lp0
DeviceURI parallel:/dev/lp0
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
</Printer>

Now, I can print any test page that I want from http://localhost:631 but when I try to print from an application such as OpenOffice or mousepad or gimp... it doesn't work at all!
But I noticed that these appeared in Print Jobs!

I'm having a little bit more difficulties since I'm using Ubuntu with Xfce and no Gnome or KDE, only Xfce 4.2 and Xfprint doesn't help me at all since my printer appears correctly listed and it is, in fact, properly installed.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance
Zeca
