Smile unable to play movies


I am a new user of Linux.
I installed RedHat linux(with 3 CD's) on my computer(AMD Athlon2.4,MSI motherBourd).My system contains 2 OS.(XP & RedHat Linux).
I install all of the packages except those related with internet & Email.
but now i am unable to see movies.
I don't know what package can be used for playing films.
I can't open the films by double clicking it.
expecting helps

it depends on the format and encoding of the file really.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - is a good player, it plays most if not all formats, will even play raw image files. theres packages avaliable for different distributions.

There is also the famous MPlayer:

I think there are also packages there for other RH versions if that does not suit you. MPlayer will play pretty much anything if you have the right codec.
