Unable to mount my USB drive. can't read superblock

I have a problem with my USB drive.
When I insert it in my Backtrack 5R2 it doesn't mount it.

i'm receiving the following message.
Error mounting: mount: /dev/sdb1: can't read superblock

Any idea how to get my USB stick working again. It doesn't matter if I lose all data on it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is it formatted ext fs? Most of them are vfat.

Try fdisk -l to see what's there. Also when you plug it in, give it a few seconds and run

dmesg |tail -n 20

Post the output
