Unable to connect to Admin interface on a WebSTAR DPC2100R2 router
Hullo Hardware Dudes,
I have a cable modem from my ISP (model WebSTAR DPC2100R2, from Scientific Atlanta). This appears to be a Linksys in a different box, because I found the web interface at 10.16.0.254, and it was the typical Linksys web interface.
A few weeks ago after tinkering with the settings, I changed the IP address for the local network (that's what I thought I did, anyway); I hit the "save" button and it said "device will now reboot." After a few minutes of the thing not reloading I tried to reset it with a paper clip into the reset button (holding it down for a full minute as I had done several times before). That didn't work so I unplugged it, replugged it and then reset it.
Now I could get to the "About your modem" page, but 10.16.0.254 comes up with nothing. I've tried several times to reset it but nothing has changed.
I would really like to get back into the settings because I decided I don't want to field pings from the internet.
Hmmm, yes...thank you for the suggestion, neither of those work: should I expect all the router's addresses to be in the same range? The "About your modem" page is on 10.16.0.164, so I would expect the webserver to still be in the 10.16.0 range.
I've just checked and I can ping the router on 10.16.0.254, but still do not get the webpage.
Joel

Reason: added info
Thanks for replying batgioi; I have moved and no longer have this router, so unfortunately cannot test this. Now I have a motorola Surfboard from Time Warner Cable, and it works just fine.
