Unable to boot Knoppix on usb drive.

h t t p: // w w w .knoppix.net/wiki/USB_Based_FAQ (sorry, only my 2nd post and I can't post url's until after the 3rd post)

I'm unable to get my Kingmax USB 2.0 (1GB) drive to boot Knoppix v5.0.1 (latest) after following the above article. The error is "No operating system found"

I'm guessing it's because when the article says to type:

# grub-install --root-directory=/mnt/usb --no-floppy '(hd0)'

(I have my usb drive mount to /mnt/usb instead.

It returned the message:

"The file /mnt/usb/boot/grub/stage1 not read correctly."

I'm doing this on my IBM T30 laptop which is set up to dual boot Win'XP and SuSE 10.1 using grub. I've changed it to boot from the usb key...

Any ideas?
