Ultra 320 SCSI HD

I wanted to upgrade to 15K RPM 300 GB Ultra 320 SCSI HD. My question is that does the 300 GB 15K RPM's processing power the same as that of ther 120 GB 15K RPM package? Thanks.

Without knowing the drive manufacture it is impossible to say if the 300GB is just as good as the 120GB drive.

michaelk,

What if both hard drive has the same manufacturer? My assumption is that since both of them have the same RPM, there is no difference at all on the processing power. It just became larger than the previous one. Am I right here?

In general, without knowing the details I would say they should be similar in performance.

What do you mean by it depends on the manufacturer? Are you saying that there are manufacturers that run hard disks faster? If so, what are those?
