ubuntu vesafb unload

hi, anybody knows a way to make ubuntu to not load vesafb at startup?

it doesn't appears in /etc/modules /etc/modules.conf /etc/modprboe.d/aliases/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/aliases ... etc
i have tried: renaming the vesafb.ko and its dependences, grub parameters vesafb=off nofb

the thing is i have a gforce2 mx, and ubuntu installed agpgart and nvidia_agp by default, also installed the vesafb driver, and i seems to make conflict with
drivers like from nvidia_glx.deb and the drivers from the Nvidia page.
the glx.deb works for a time with some drawing errors after session changes and then the system hangs
th driver from the nvida page simply hangs

thanx in advance
