Ubuntu (lm14-cinnamon) and Lexmark E260
I have, Linux 3.5.0-17-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 9 19:32:08 UTC 2012 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux, aka Linux Mint 14, 32 bit, Cinnamon DE which installs a very basic driver for my networked Lexmark E260dn toner based printer. Too basic; can not change options. Ubuntu 12.04 also did NOT have a good driver.
BUT the no longer supported LM11.04 did. That driver was great, allowed me to look and change "properties" with ease. What has happened to printer drivers? No longer CUPS?
Anyway, how to fix?
P.S., downloaded and installed the driver from Lexmark and was told by the installer that I already had that driver installed. Do not want to go back to ver. 11, aka kernel 2.6.x, but I need this printer working for my business.
