Ubuntu livecd and not visual contact

Hello people :)
fist post :Pengy:

When i try to run ubuntu live dvd in my pc, after the boot, i can hear the start sound, but no visual contact with it.
My graphic card is Ati Radeon x600 pci express and the motherboard is Asus P5AD2 premium.
I think the problem is that ubuntu can not recognize the graphic card.
Dose anyone have any idea what to do?

That seems possible, ATI Radeon needs a proprietary driver. If the card won't go with the vesa driver you will not likely get any graphics. A quick google though suggests that others with this card can at least see the initial ubuntu splash and boot: prompt.

Just a check:
you reboot - you see the bios/splash, something about booting from CD, then a blank screen?

If the ATI card is removable, remove it.
You could try configuring it in BIOS to downgrade it somewhat.
