Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop, Nvidia Graphics issue (Dual screens don't work since install...)

I performed a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 while previously running 9.04. To use my dual screens in 9.04 I just installed the nvidia drivers, ran "sudo nvidia-settings" turned the second display on set resolution and saved the results. I'm not have that easy of a time with 9.10. Okay so now my second monitor appears as "CRT-1" (Yes it is an old CRT that I still use on the side). The optimal resolution is no longer available (1600x1200) and when I try to activate it I have to click "apply what is possible" but nothing even happens. (Trying to seperate x-screens). Furthermore when I try to "save the config i get
Quote:
Failed to parse existing X config file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'!
and in console t his is what you see.
Quote:
j@tayswift-ubuntu:~$ sudo nvidia-settings
j:
VALIDATION ERROR: Data incomplete in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Undefined Device "(null)" referenced by Screen "Default Screen".

Segmentation fault
j@tayswift-ubuntu:~$
How can I work around this? It looks to me like my monitor is no longer supported or something, how do I work this? Thanks in advance.

I just modified the x server config file directly and added "1600x1200" as a resolution option. Works fine!

Thanks.
