Ubuntu 11.04 unable to print from Epson Stylus Photo R300.
I have recently upgraded my netbook from 10.10 to 11.04 (Asus EEE PC 901) and while setting things up, was emailed a document I needed to print. I wanted to print it from my netbook, however when connecting to the printer mounted on a Windows share using Samba it errored:
Unable to connect to CIFS host
And then printed
Processing Printing Page 1 i%
Where i is 1 through 10, then stops and errors again. It is on Linux Kernel 2.6.38-8-generic, and has all updates installed. I am still using the printer setup tool, which is:
system-config-printer
I am in the correct workgroup and have tried the Samba tool and the find printer, of which the Samba one finds the printer, goes through the drivers and then errors.
I know I could use the computer the printer is plugged into, but that is only a short term solution. This printer could connect in 10.10, any ideas of how I could get it working? If you need any more info, just ask.
