U.S. Robotics 56K Performance Pro modem is not detected on SuSE Linux 9.1

I am not new to Linux, and I have tried everything I know to get this darn thing working, however, it is not being detected. The accompanying documentation with the U.S. Robotics 56K Performance Pro modem states it is compatible with Linux kernel 2.x and up. I am using SuSE Linux 9.1 Pro, and the modem should be detected by YaST, however it is not. The modem is currently residing on COMM 3. It works fine on WindowsME, and worked on Red Hat 7.3. I visited the U.S. Robotics web page, and there was a driver that could downloaded(This was done by windows), however, I have installed this package in Linux and it did not work.
