ugh, sigh.
i've tried everything i can think of.
I installed the proprietary nvidia drivers...
i've installed the debian way...
both to no avail
ok dirty deets:
distro: debian ( etch netinst )
kernel: 2.6.18-4-486
video card: nvidia GeForce 6200 LE
ultimately, I'm tyring to get mythtv working.
i've gotten it working using generic video card drivers* but can't seem to get TV out ( s-video ) to werk. Also, i've gotten mythtv to werk on the monitor, albeit with shitty resolution, but i got it to werk. I have yet to get anything to work with video out. The best I've been able to do, is get xserver to show up on the tv, but only in greyscale, and thats a best case scenario.
as for the OS, i installed the base system followed by the xorg xserver.
i followed the debian wiki (
http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers#Libraries) to the T, and still nothing ( ahem, still the same lspaci output ).
the following command reports:
lsmod|grep nv
nvidia_agp 8092 1
agpgart 29360 1 nvidia_agp
sata_nv 10756 0
libata 87700 1 sata_nv
startx gives me a desktop, but S-video gives me a blank screen.
*i'm assuming they are generic video card drivers - nvtv can't seem to seem to find a supported card, and lspci reports:
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Unknown device 0222 (rev a1)
suggestions?
how-to's?
suggested reading material?
any help whatsoever?
any info i left out that can help?
much appreciated
