Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

TV Out

I need to find a Linux/Video Card/Driver combo that supports TV Out (composite video). Ideally, the Video Card driver will support Xv and not just OpenGL. NOTE: The most promising seems to be NVidia GEForce with Red Hat, but only OpenGL is supported with their driver(I think). BTW, I am a noobie to Linux and especially esoteric video stuff so please be kind if I ask silly questions.
And my question is:

Anyone out there using a Linux/Video Card/Driver that supports TV Out, and if so can you give the me the relevant details.(Distro/Video Card/Driver/Config, etc.) Thanks!
