Trying to watch analog TV input...

Using an ATI Tv wonder HD 600 card, and i'm trying to use it to view an analog signal through the coax input. Normally, I'd tune the tv to channel 3 and be done with it. I'm not really sure how to proceed with it.

Code:

scan /usr/share/dvb/atsc/us-NTSC-center-frequencies-8VSB
doesn't pull in the correct input, and i'm not sure that non-digital inputs are even supported. anyone have a suggestion?

what type of signal are you inputing.. i mean, is it tv, vcr.. or what?

maybe the strength of your signal is not enough?

there may be another channel like av, or channel 0, or 1 on your card for you to see stuff you input personally.

lettuce know..

it shouldn't be a signal strength issue.

well, forgot that i had a mini-usb input on this dongle that lets me input from composite or s-video source. i'm able to select the source from a CLI via
Code:

v4l2-ctl -i 1
although that doesn't seem necessary. i can now access the video through vlc by going to open capture device-->source "video for linux 2"-->options/advanced-->source "1" (for composite). still can't get audio, but working on it...
