trying to make lexmark z22 printer properly

Hi,

Using a lexmark z22 printer with suse 10 ker 2.6.x and open office 2.1? Anyway, This printer is quite shifty, I has a hard time printing just text properly.

It prints it in 600x600 like 300x300 (quick mode) in windows. Vertical lines are not straight and the biggest problem is that it can at any time only print 1 of all pages (3 pages total)even if you highlight and use selection.

I has a gross time with images.

Is there anything I can do?

I think the vertical line thing may be fixed by setting the printer cartriges to 17 & 17 for alignment. They are at 16 & 16 but shoudn't this make them straight still?

The printer is supported in the list and it is the foomatic driver?

It uses cups in kde and the printer is usb, I tried downloading the driver from the site, but it only works for the parallel port. I believe I had this problem in suse 9.3 when I had it on the parallel port as well.

It would be nice to make the printer work as I have two of them, exacts.

I know these are probably not the best printers to use with linux
sort of like the winmodem thing, but I was just wondering if there was anything else to try. Especially cause I have to keep microsucks my **** os around for the g/f to print from.
