Trident 975 with S-Video TV-out

I'm trying to use S-Video out through my old Trident 975 AGP card. I'm using SuSE which appears to be identifying the card correctly. I tried hooking the box to the tv, turning the tv on, turning to the right channel, then starting, but it won't work so far. Does anyone know a trick for this? Do I need to set a particular resolution/depth before restarting? I hope someone out there has some experience with this card.
