Transcend USB JF opening issue


Hello I recently bought one TRANSCEND usb storage jf 30 model, in my home i have windows operating system and in my office we have Linux operating system.In my home my usb is perfectly working for the first time i put the usb into my computer in the office I could copy it fine and then i came to my home to just to paste some of the important documents i could nt able to open in my home pc. When i double click the removable disk icon its not opening, and then i right clicked it i found unicode characters displaying instead of OPEN. why is that happenning does this usb only suit for one operating system.Please clear it because i have some doubts on my usb also.

Hi tommore, Welcome to lq. A couple of questions first. What versions/distros of windows and linux are you using? What is the file system of the drive? How are you mounting/unmounting the drive? It sounds like data coruption which could be caused by something as simple as unplgging the drive without unmounting it. One more question, is this drive U3 capable by any chance?
