Touchpad doesn't work: Acer Travelmate 4101 with Fedora Core 4

Hello. I'm a newbie running the Fedora Core 4 Distro in a Acer TravelMate 4101... i barely know some basic Linux commands...
When I installed the first time, Anaconda didn't detected the mouse and I manually selected a Synaptics Touchpad. Even though, I still can't use it running KDE or Gnome. How could I configure it... and could you explain the commands or features I may use?

Your mouse is set up in the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf (or at least this is where the file is on SUSE 10.0). If your mouse isn't working you'll need to edit this file appropriately. Google for information.
