Touchpad disabling when lid close

Hi all--

I'm not sure if this is best place for this, but bear with me.

I'm in Linux Mint Qiana KDE. Thus far, I've really enjoyed the distro. However, I've encountered a frustrating bug. My touchpad disables after the lid is closed, and does not re-enable once the lid is opened. I discovered a workaround for this problem--just a simple command to run in the terminal.

So, I've turned this command into a script that I'm wanting to execute automatically when the lid opens. But I can't seem to locate where I should inject the reference. Any recommendations?

in /etc/acpi there are events and scripts.

The thing to do is kill acpid, restart at once with appid -l, and open a terminal in which you run tail -f on /var/log/messages. Then you can activate and deactivate any acpi triggers of interest, lid button, brightness up/down, etc, and the exact event will be added to syslog.

With that data, you can script for lid open --> your action. Put a script in the events dir to call your script.

Also check bios for any options such as do what when lid closes.
