Did you check the command system-config-network to see if you're able to configure your LAN Nic?
For the Intel pro Wireless I can give you a lot of Info and it will be easy to et it working.
ipw2200 Documentation can be found here.
Here you can download the Firmware you'll need to load ATRPMS.NET
Okay in system-config-network the lan nic is in the most cases eth0.
And regarding compile a new kernel No.
What happens if you issue the command
/sbin/ifconfig -a
you'll see which devices can be setup.
If there is any other device then LO (loopback) then you should be able to configure it with system-config-network.
Cause if we get your LAN Nic working to connect to the internet we can easy catch up the rest using YUM or APT for the dependency problems regarding wireless.
it seems there is no eth0 device.
it will be great if i could get atleast the NIC up and running.
i tried in several other sites, got driver for marvell. but wen i tried installing it, it gave some errors and and at last i was forced for a kernel compilation which also ended up in another error. is it necessary that i shld recompile kernel to get any of this working.
now this is tough time for me to get atleast the NIC to start working.
the output of /sbin/ifconfig -a is as follows. it seems it has identified only the lo adapter.
Okay it seems that it will be easier to install the Wireless Lan IPW2200 Card rather then the Marvel Gigabit Controller.
But here is a driver download within Marvell.com
And regarding the Intel Pro Wireless 2200 MiniPCI
I need to know which errors you've got exactly regarding the missing dependencies.
uname -rm will show your running kernel version.
