Toshiba Satellite Ubuntu 13.10, keyboard and mouse not responding.

I have a Toshiba Satellite with AMD A4 Radeon HD 4000 Graphics with Ubuntu 13.10 installed.

I have one more problem though...

It is evident that my computer is not detecting the touchpad and keyboard... Although they work fine with Windows 7.

↳ TOSHIBA Web Camera - HD id=9 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Dell Dell USB Keyboard

My computer just won't recognize the touchpad and the keyboard built into my laptop. Is there anything I can do to make them work again?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to add that sometimes they will work at random. I can always get them to work by logging in, closing the lid, switching to guest, then logging back in.

I just updated everything. I just selected all updates on the update manager tool (including pre-released updates)and the performance seems pretty consistent now
