timidity and sound card configuration


Thisisi the out put that I am getting

I am trying to figure out why I am getting this output when I run timdiity any help wouuld be appreciated

Well the audio buffer set timidity config file is set to a low value.

Sorry if this is a little criptic, but try . . .

# timidity -B5,12 '/root/AHardDaysNight.mid'

the -B option has to do with the sound buffer. the 5 in this example is the number of buffers, and the number 12 is the size of the bufferer calculated as 2 to the power of that 12. I.e. 5 lots of 4096 byte buffer fragements.

You can either use an alias or the config files to make this default.

# alias timidity="timidity -B5,12"
# timidity '/root/AHardDaysNight.mid'
# timidity '/root/someOtherThing.mid'

Try different values for 5 and 12 if this does not work.
