Time Zone Incorrect: trouble in fixing it

My computer thinks I am in London, Lisbon or Oagadougou!
I am in the brazilian time zone (-3h from Greenwich) but, after I set the correct time, my Linux changed my time zone to UTC/GMT and I can reset it now.
I do know how set it, but my computer do not do it.

What can I do?

(using CL10)

As root user, this works for FC3 and should be similar for your os.

Check /etc/sysconfig/clock to see if it looks like this...
ZONE="America/New_York" ## your local zone here
UTC=false
ARC=false

Look in /usr/share/zoneinfo/Brazil for your zone. For example: Brazil/East

Then run the correct command: zdump Brazil/East

Type this: ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Brazil/East /etc/localtime

Run the command: date -s "02/20/2005 16:10:00" ##using the correct time

Run the command: /sbin/hwclock --systohc

Thank you!

Wow, it worked!

Thank you.

Strangely, my clock had jumped to May.
Oh, but now it is correct.

Au revoir!
