Thumb Drive

I left my thumb drive in earlier today when I shut the computer down (I figured it needed a break cause' it hadn't been turned off in like 2 weeks) and now it searches for it on boot and tries to mount it, and regardless of whether it is in on bootup or not I can't mount it to place the icon on my desktop or just to view it, it's not mounted b/c it's not accessible at all. What would I need to do to get it to stop looking for it on bootup and to fix the mounting/unmounting issue?

vi /etc/fstab and check in there for your usbdrive. I'm guessing that it has auto as one of the options - remove the auto and it won't try to mount it at boot. (I've done this same thing before, but never had this problem; possibly a bug in your distro?)

Problem solved, I didn't have to edit the file I just opened up the volume config tool and normal user administration had been taken off that mount point and the noauto option had been taken out, I have fixed it, and restarted once with the thumb drive unplugged to make sure that it doesn't look for it on boot. All is well, no boot seek and it mounts and unmounts just fine, thanks for the help. When you mentioned fstab it reminded me of the config tool.
