The fastest CPU for my mobo?

Well in a overclock mod to my Athlon 1500+ cpu, I roasted it. Not by pushing it too far, but by not knowing what I was doing ... poo. So I gotta get a new CPU for my mobo. Can anybody help me find some very important info??

I have a MSI K7 Master-S motherboard and I want to know what is the fastest athlon processor I can put into it ... if anybody could help me that would be totally excellent, I'll probably buy a cpu tomarrow!

Thanks!!

I did a little googling and I found this:

http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...eid=503&page=5

quoted from page:

"K7 Master-S
CPU: AMD Athlon/Duron Socket A processors from 650MHz up to 1.5Ghz. 100Mhz clock (200Mhz internal system bus)"

I hope answers your question

Well I talked to the guy at copmuter stop and he said a 2200 would work in it, so I went with his reccomendation and got it today. Before it even saw my motherboard, I already unclocked it (modifying it to be prepared for overclocking). Then I got a huge as hell thermaltake fan that's sooo tight! It's orange and black with a silver grill, and has a mondo copper heashink! I'm talkin an 80mm fan ... for a CPU! And not only that ... the fan speed responds to how hot the cpu gets! And if you want, you can engage manual speed via a knob that sticks out of one of your card slots! It was about $35, and it's an overclockers dream, lol. If your into this, definately check out the thermaltake volcano 11-xaser edition!

So the computer doesn't work yet because I need a bios update, so copmuter stop is going to help me on that one (using an older chip), but if all goes well, I'm going to jump around for about five minutes or so yelling "yippe-yip-yippide-yippe-yippe!!!"

I'm new to overclocking but so far I love it
