I am running a dual boot with Linux 2007 (64) and Windows XP. After lots of TRIAL and ERROR, I have installed the Trendnet stand-alone modem.
Using KPPP I have gotten farther than I have ever gotten with any modem attached to Linux. It gets me into the system, pauses, and then hangs up.
I need help. I know that I have the solution right in front of me. Where is it?
Help!! Please!!
Tony
BTW .. This message has gone out under the auspices of XP. I don't want VISTA. Please Help.

There are many different reasons for being dropped like your describing. When this happened to me, same modem, I tried three things. Check the passwords again. Check and see if you can log on withOUT using a firewall. Re-install if those two attempts fail. These three worked for me. If you don't have the time to re-install, I apologize up front for suggesting it.
