system locks up when bringing down bonded network interface
Running OpenSuse10.1.
I have an 802.3ad bond (trunk) setup. If any of the ports are plugged into a switch at bootup, when I try to restart the network, bring down the bond, or shut down the machine, it locks up. If I startup the machine with none of the ports physically plugged in, I can bring down the bond without issue.
My question(s) is/are this -
is it typical for an 802.3ad bond to lock when all the ports are not plugged in?
if the switch is not configured properly (configured for the wrong type of bond), could this be causing the problem?
I don't think its a hardware issue as we've gone through two PCI cards trying to solve this.
suggestions?
