I have a dual boot system (windows XP & SuSe Linux 10.1 - 32bit) on HP Pavilion 1521 Desktop with following configuration

D820 - 2.8 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB, SATA, 16X DVD-RW (Lite ON DVDRW SHM-165H6S HP10)

The drive works fine in windows boot, is able to read & write any media.

As soon as I insert any CD/DVD in linux, the system locks up and I am left with resetting the system. Even if I boot the system with any media inside the drive, as soon as it boots, system locks up.

What could be the problem? Please help me to resolve it.
