SynCE - not receiving any connections

Hi, I have a handheld running Windows CE 5.00. I installed the only SynCE package available through YUM. I have the serial cable from the device going into a serial to USB adapter. One terminal has dccm running (as root, in foreground) and listening on port 5679. In another terminal I run

synce-serial-config /dev/ttyUSB0

synce-serial-start

On my device I see a popup saying connecting to host. The device then makes a sound (the sound made when ActiveSync is connected). My dccm does not see any connection on the port so I do not know what to do from here. I will post anything I find from the log file when I reboot my system.

Thanks!
Chris
