sync range

I am just about to install RH9.

I have MagView VM500E monitor and I don't know sync ranges.
Do I have to know them?

Man, not a single hit in google/linux! Not good...

As for knowing the frequencies, well it's nice... But you should (might) be able to get by using a generic monitor.

You might be able to find additional info here:

Your best bet would be to start with a non-X install and install X afterwards. This way you can take advantage of the new autoconfiguration mode in X that redhat doesn't use yet.

To use it, just run "X -configure" and follow the instructions it provides for completing and testing the configuration. Here, "X" is the name of the xserver executable, it is usually "X" but redhat may have named it "XFree" or something similar.
