SuSE not seeing full hard drive

I've got a 160 gig HD and only 149 gigs are being used. I can't even see the remaining 11 gigs in YaST.

SuSE 9.2 (2.6.8-24) on a 160 gig Seagate HD.

I previously had Windows XP installed on a small 20 gig partition, but formatted it during my latest install. I thought Linux would detect the entire volume of the hard drive and format accordingly - but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Linux did detect the entire volume and formatted it accordingly. By common sense and policy, it doesn't wipe out your windows partitions until you manually tell it to.

yes... I DID tell it too - I selected "format entire drive" option. It should be showing up as a total of 159 gigs - but it's only showing up as 149 gigs.

No. Do an expert/manual partition. It will not overwrite your windows partition. But it will oeverwrite blank/linux partitions. Do the partitioning manually.

ahh ok cool - thanks.
