SuSe Install - LV, RAID5, or both?

I am gathering that I've a lot to learn when trying to partition hard drives in the Linux environment.

First, is it possible to have drives set up for raid5 and logical volume use?, if not, then I would prefer raid5.

Second, What would the steps be when using yast, or mdadm?

I hope this is not too much to ask.

Thanks for any resposes.

LVM and RAID work totally independently, you can certianly combine both, but personally i'd be tentative to do so, much more inclined to combine raid1 and LVM if i felt the need to. Raid5 is fine in it's own right, but has scalability constraints one it's been created.
