Suse 8.0 prof: having hda: partition check


I have problem booting Suse
having hda: partition check" line during booting and blinking coursor , nothing happens aftewards ..

I booted with Safe settings mode and tried to add into lilo.conf
append="ide=nodma hda=noprobe"
it does not help :-(

please advice, suse worked without any problems for 3 months this is first time then i can't start it ;-(

well if you can boot using different settings successfully, it probably means that there is a problem with the way the partition is currently configured or organized. i can hardly think that the problem with lay with lilo, as it seems that you can at least start booting, so there wouldn't be any use in changing it's configuration. however, if the partition's boot secor was damaged, it might not be able to initilize. do you have a seperate partition dedicated to booting? if so, you might want to just reformat the boot partition.
