Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question surveillance webcam software

I just got a Creative CT6840 USB Video Blaster Webcam III and I am working with Slackware 10 & Fedora Core 2. I was able to get it to work using gnomemeeting in FC2, however I need it for surveillance of my home when I'm not there. I am unable to find such a program that will work with the 2.6 kernels that are in FC2.

So, I'm wondering what programs are out there that would work with Slackware 10 (2.4.22 kernel) for webcam surveillance and how would I install the ov511 driver for the webcam in Slack?
