Super Block

hey, im new to this forum and i was having a little trouble with my mp3 player. Since my computer has some sort of virus, it keeps shutting down right before i log in. So using slax, i decided to save all my files onto a flashdrive and save it to my laptop. Then i had planned to reboot the computer and reinstall all the files. Since my mp3 player only has a gig, i had to use it several times to move the files from my computer to my laptop. After the second time i did it, there was an error in which my mp3 player wasnt opening anymore

here is the exact error message

"could not mount device
the reported error was:

mount:/dev/sdal:can't read super block

so i just want to know how i can fix this problem

sorry if this is a repost
PLEASE HELP!!!

Welcome to lq then.
Is this a linux virus?
Anyhow, I suppose with the live distro you could just format
again the mp3 player memory.
Is this a USB stick? Are you mounting it as mass storage device?
Is it fat32 or ext2/ ext3?
I have very little ide how to help further.
You could run
fsck -c -C 0 /dev/sda

If you give some more details and wait for some more suggestions...
