Stumped by Aiptek tablet driver installation under SuSE 9.2

I'm being driven around the bend by a perl installer script for an aiptek HyperPen usb tablet driver from a sourceforge web site http://sourceforge.net/projects/aiptektablet/. The project hasn't had the gumption to make an .rpm package or even, for that matter, provide instructions for the configure, make, and make install process (at least as near as I can tell, from scouring the website).
I haven't run the script yet, which is called aiptek-installer.pl. I've modified one line in the script for the source directory for my SuSE Linux 9.2 Pro, so it reads:

$kernel_src_dir="/usr/src/linux-2.6.8-24-obj";

I am hoping the above is a correct change. I am, however, stumped about what to place in the line for the Xfree Source (xc directory), so I'm sitting here not knowing what to do, with the line for that reading:

$xfree_src_dir="";

I need something for between those quote marks.

It would sure be nice to get this tablet working, so I don't have to spring for a Wacom Graphire or Intuos.:scratch:
