Still on SATA booting problem,freezing?
Dear all experts,
I'm a newbie to the linux world. I started with RedHat 9 (2.4.20.8). I can install it in my SATA harddisk without any problem. However, at the booting time, it seems to freeze about 1 minute before the red line below. I have also checked the past threads in this forum. I tried some solutions but failed. What I have done are: 1. edit the /etc/rc.sysinit by adding #echo MAX_kb_per_request:15>/proc/ide/hde/settings #/sbin/hdparm -X69 /dev/hde #/sbin/hdparm -d1 /dev/hde #/sbin/hdparm -c1u1 /dev/hde but i cannot boot up. 2. upgrade the kernel version to 2.4.22 but still come across with the same problem. What i haven't done is just to renew the drive of siimage for SATA. Now I would like to ask for your advice about the 'freezing', thanks in advance! Code:
