Hiya,
I've just been given a HP Pavilion F1903 - Tech details at:
http://h40013.www4.hp.com/me/eng/con...627a_tech.html
I am running it at:
Resolution: 1280X1024, Horz Freq.: 63.98 kHz, Vert. Freq.: 60.02 Hz
Looking at the Tech details, it says:
Horizontal Scan Rates: 56-76KHz vertical, 30-82KHz horizontal
In xorgconfig, I get the following options:
hsync in kHz; monitor type with characteristic modes
8 31.5 - 64.3; Monitor that can do 1280x1024 @ 60 Hz
9 31.5 - 79.0; Monitor that can do 1280x1024 @ 74 Hz
10 31.5 - 82.0; Monitor that can do 1280x1024 @ 76 Hz 0
Here I think I enter 10. since my horizontal refresh is 30 -> 82 Hz
However, what am I meant to enter in this menu:
You must indicate the vertical sync range of your monitor. You can either
select one of the predefined ranges below that correspond to industry-
standard monitor types, or give a specific range. For interlaced modes,
the number that counts is the high one (e.g. 87 Hz rather than 43 Hz).
1 50-70
2 50-90
3 50-100
4 40-150
5 Enter your own vertical sync range
56-->76, should I be going for option 1? Should I go to the maximum frequency or is it not worth risking damage to the monitor?
If anyone could clear this up for me it'd be great
Thanks
Steve
