stall at partition check (broken? scsi drive)
Well, I'm really stupid...
I was putting another hard drive into an old powerpc box I have running linux as a router and I decided to move the drives slightly while on and plugged in.. the computer turned off immediately and I think I may have broken the hard drive..
I don't really care about the data, but I would like to use the drive if possible, however linux now stalls at the partition check stage.. it prints the scsi info for the two drives correctly, and then the partition info for the first drive and stops.
I can boot into MacOS with the drive plugged in, but when I run Drive Setup (disk init/partion program) it hangs at "scanning bus..".
So, is it a lost cause? Or is there a chance i can reformat and use the drive?
thanks,
