SoundMax Integrated Audio and Virtual Desktop on Fedora

I was wondering how to get soundmax integrated audio to work on Fedora Core 1. I have a Dell Dimension 8300 and the motherboard is whatever Dell mb that comes with that.
Also, I finally configured my Ati Radeon 9800 card to work and configured it by going into text mode and using the command "fglrxconfig". But now, my desktop is set so that I have a virtual desktop ( I have to move the mouse to the sides of the screen to see what's on that side). I am sure that I did not select this option because I have run "fglrxconfig" a couple of times to make sure. The first time I ran it, the desktop was normal, but on sessions after that, the virtual desktop feature was enabled.
