SoundFont memory limitations on Audigy 2?
Hello,
I seem to remember that on Windows, you could set the amount of memory to use for loading SoundFonts into a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card (I assume that this loaded the soundfont into system memory and then somehow streamed only the needed sounds to the sound card). In Linux, 'asfxload -M' tells me that I have approximately 128 MB of memory for loading SoundFonts, yet I'm trying to load a SoundFont larger than that, so I'm looking for some sort of option that works like the one in Windows - to cache SoundFonts in system memory or something and thus allow me to load extremely large SoundFonts... Does anyone know of a way to achieve this sort of effect in Linux? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
