** Before you read on, Keep in mind this is my first Linux distro, ever. **
Long story short, I installed Damn Small Linux 0.9.1, It installed all my hardware (Onboard Video,LAN etc) except for my Onboard PCI soundcard :( I made sure the sound levels weren't at 0 & then tried to play an audio CD and heard no sound either.
Here is the output of /sbin/lspci & cat /proc/pci
Multimedia audio controller: Intel corp. 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio (rev1).

Does anyone know what could be wrong?
Use the search feature to figure out what acpi is.
Thanks for the reply,
I searched the forums for what ACPI is - Advanced Configuration and Power Interface & how to enable it. But all the threads I found were about how to Enable ACPI for a specific Distro (Debian, Mandrake etc). I was wondering if you could provide me with a link or could tell me how for Damn Small Linux :newbie: sorry to ask but I don't want to use the method for debian or something and do something wrong.
Well, pick a random distro. I know some of them have to have instructions for re-comp9iling a kernel with acpi. Its the same for you.
