soundcard and mousewheel and videocard
Hi everyone....
I have Debian on my computer, and there's 2 things i'm having trouble with: my soundcard and the wheel on my mouse. how do i get debian to use my soundblaster audigy gamer soundcard? I can't seem to find an appropriate .conf or similar. i have a ibm optical navigator mouse. how do i make gnome use the scroll wheel? finally, a more minor issue: i have a radeon 8500 vid card. ati makes a driver for it, but it doesn't seem to be able to use the 3-d effects on it. any thoughts? thanks! denn'bok |

This is how I got my wheel mouse working under RedHat 7.2 I'm not sure how Debian works but it may be similar.
1.) login as root 2.) open & edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file 3.) under the pointer section change protocal to TMPS/2 ( mine was PS/2) 4.) make sure that ZAxis Mapping IS NOT commented out 5.) restart X server & it should work As I said this was under RedHat 7.2 I don't know a lot about Debian but maybe it is similar as for the sound & video I don't really know except that under Slackware you'll have to uncomment out the line for your soundcard in the /etc/rc.d/rc.modolues file. Maybe this will help in someway or the other. Bubba169 |
