soundblaster problems

Ello (",)
I'v just installed mandrake latest version and I can't get my soundblaster awe 64 to work. I'm sure that I need to do a modprobe and edit the modulesconf but can't get the right combination. Any suggestions guys?

Muchos gracias for thy 'elp

If you want to modprobe, first check if it's already installed:

# lsmod | grep 'sn'

This should output everything that has something to do with sound. (perhaps even non-sound entries that contain 'sn' ... nevermind)

Have you tried Harddrake? (drakconf -> harddrake) It's got some sound driver selection options (so you know what module to seek for) and some debugging hints to get you started.
