Soundblaster MP3+ USB Audio

I have a Soundblaster MP3+ usb audio device which, with the alsa xmms plugin works for xmms, yet under gnome 2.6, even though I have alsa installed (I have slackware 10 so it came with it), IT IS DETECTED, but under "Volume Control", I can not adjust the PCM controls from the 0% marker. There is two speaker columns which I can control, but those do not do anything for me. Thank You.

Slackware 10 - FULL INSTALL
2.2 Ghz Celeron
640 MB DDR RAM
Two 40 GB Drivers - Master XP - Slave Slack 10
