Soundblaster Live! and AUX connector

Greetings!!

I'm using a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Digital with kernel 2.4.20 and ALSA (0.9.4, I believe). Everything works up to now. Previously, I had my CD ROM plugged into the main CD audio connector on the SB. Now: I just bought a DVD burner, and connceted the analog audio cable from the back of the burner into the main CD audio connector on the SB cord. Works fine. But, when I connect the analog audio cable from the back of the CD ROM to the AUX IN connector in the SB, I get no sound. If I swap the connectors on the SB, I get sound from the CD ROM.

This points me in one of two directions: 1) either the AUX IN connector is not usable (as documentation suggests) or 2) ALSA is not set up properly for the AUX IN connector on the SB.

Anybody have any ideas?

Guy
