Hi every body

I do have a Asustek computer using 82801 G high definition audio controller Suse 9.3 which I use before manage to produce a good sound

I am using know suse 10.3 If I look into my hardware information it look
like suse 10.3 do recognize my soundblaster using driver snd-HDA-intel
But it did not produce any sound I delete the configured sound cart.
And probe it again same result

It is a brand knew computer so it is rather stranger that suse 9.3
get it working but not suse 10.3

Can anybody helps me out

did you run alsamixer to make sure the output of the card isn't muted ?

YES I did Even after deleting the sound blaster and probe the cart again
yast has the option to test the sound it did not give any sound.

Any other suggestion

Which soundblaster card are you using? Are you sure it is a soundblaster?

It works under windows xp
Windows xp calls it Realtek high definition audio controller

Suse 10,3 driver list did not mention any Realtek sound cart

So if windows xp is right it is not a soundblaster


So what can I do

You might have to add your username to the audio group. YAST->Security and USER->USER Management. Then try your sound.
